Our Mission Statement:

Windy City VROC will endeavor to provide a means for enthusiasts of Kawasaki Vulcan's of all ages and skills to meet for rallies, outings, and social functions in a cohesive family atmosphere.
Promote Vulcan's and motorcycles in general as a fun and safe activity to be enjoyed by people of all ages and abilities.
Promote the image of the Vulcan Riders and Owners Club and motorcycle riders in general through involvement in public functions and charitable events and through demonstrated responsible motorcycling.
Our members plan and lead: day rides; overnight rides; and the occasional multiple day adventure ride. All members are welcome to join in and ride along for as much, or as little, as they choose. Anyone can plan and lead a ride.
While there is no formal schedule of rides for the year, generally it can be expected that there will be a ride put together at least once a month (or more) during the riding season, when the weather cooperates. We hope everyone will step up to lead a ride, or at least select a destination, sometime during the season. That would certainly fill our weekends with rides. In addition, we will list on our calendar the major events of supported events within the Chicagoland area.
Windy City VROCer's favor safe riding. In that spirit, drinking alcohol, beyond a drink or two at an extended food stop, is discouraged. As a group, we do not ride just for the sake of stopping at a bar for a drink. We may stop at a tavern for a meal, but it is expected common sense will prevail. Anyone thought to have had too much to drink will be asked to not continue the current ride with the group.

About Windy City VROC

Windy City VROC came into existence during the summer of 1997 with the local Chicagoland VROCers getting together for group rides. We wanted a local venue to plan our rides and enjoy each other's company. In 1998, we adopted Windy City VROC as our local group name. Windy City VROC is a local extension of VROC, The Vulcan Riders and Owners Club.

In Windy City VROC , you can put a face to a name, people can ride together and form lasting friendships based upon common interests. Windy City VROC was one of the first local chapters to form within VROC and has always been one of the largest and most active VROC chapters during its many years of existence.

Our primary goal has always been to promote camaraderie, fellowship and fun while stressing safety while riding, and so far we believe that goal has been successfully met. Not all of our members ride Vulcan's and everyone is welcome on any event. We look at the member as a fellow biker, not as someone on a particular brand of bike. Our members help each other with motorcycle repairs and customizing, and are willing to give advice freely to anyone who wants it.

There is no formal chain of command within VROC and the same holds true for Windy City VROC. We are a loose group of friends having a great time.

Spend some time on our web site and get to know a little about us. Then, join in on the discussion and come along on one of our rides; it'll be a lot of fun.

What is VROC?

VROC is the Internet-based organization of folks who enjoy riding, customizing, and talking about their Kawasaki Vulcan motorcycles.
Question: What is VROC and Should I join?
Answer: VROC is not a club in the traditional sense. VROC is a group of Vulcan owners and riders who communicate mostly through the Internet. Although VROC was started by a group of 1500 Classic owners, it is open to owners of Vulcan's of all sizes. You do not need to be a member of VROC to participate in Windy City VROC rides, but it sure helps...
